Blogger (Blogspot) Integrating With Google

Earlier today, we reported that Google’s upcoming music service is integrating with Google+ and now we’ve news that Google is looking to integrate their popular blogging platform called ‘blogger’ aka ‘blogspot’ with Google+. It seems that Google’s trying to integrate all their popular social services with Google+. Whether this move is profitable or not; only time will decide. However, we’re quite sure that integration of blogger and Google+ will give blogspot users a reason to check out Google+. This also means that Google+ will have additional features like ‘blog this’ and blogger profiles could be replaced by Google+ profiles.

It seems that integration isn’t final yet. Following message appears on blogger’s edit profile page:  “Connect Blogger to Google+ : Use your Google profile and get access to upcoming Google+ features on Blogger,”. However, ‘learn more’ page displays an error page and we hope that Google engineers will restore it as soon as possible. We’d also expect commenting system currently available in blogger will be integrated with Google plus. There’s however a big issue at this moment – commenters don’t want to show the world their real name in comments and Google+ makes it compulsory for every user to display their real name. There are rumors that Google is actually reviewing this policy and may soon allow nicknames on Google+. If they do, they’ll have a fair chance of competing with Facebook – the current social networking giant. We’d like to ask our readers whether they think integration of popular Google services with the Gplus platform is a good move or not.
